The construction partnership between Suffolk and H.J. Russell has brought new meaning to the phrase "we'll cross that bridge when we come to it." The assembly of the bridge structure was a critical point for the Project's vertical construction, and one that was hit right on schedule as the building steel continues to the roof level.
BGI, the lead developer of 10 World Trade, says that steel is tracking ahead of schedule and is expected to top out in October 2023. "An enormous amount of planning and preparation went into this effort to install the bridge," says John Hynes IV, project executive from BGI. "It's the result of a very rigorous engineering exercise between all parties involved to make sure this is done safely and with as little disruption to traffic as possible. We're very proud of the team for this achievement."
